Now, there's alot of ways to get around to where you want to end up, #1 DPS. But, let's start from the basics. The first thing you want to do is decide, whether you want to go Mutilate Spec or Combat Spec. Now, they are pretty close in DPS within 3.2.2, but that's not everything, there are certain fights where AR/BF will out-do the standard rotations of Mutilate. The problem, is that, if the fight is a single target tank/spank or movement fight, then Mutilate will win hands down.
The deciding factor is simple, what weapons you currently have now, will determine your current spec. Then from here you choose your spec path, based on your raids progression. My suggestions to figure out where certain weapons drop is from, one of my favorite sites,
Shadowpanter.
With the Crusade patch (3.2) you got bosses like:
- Icehowl: Using cooldowns burst during when he gets stunned, effectively, will win out over sustain dps.
- Jaraxxus: He's a simple tank/spank with a few adds, just another loot pinata.
- Faction champions: This fight is all about burst and control.
- Twin Valkyrs: 100% damage + Haste Buff.
- Anuberak: high HP adds that come in 2's or 4's.
Now, there are two specs and ONLY two specs to which to dps from. With the 3.2.2 Patch, HaT speculation is now dead. Do NOT do stupid crap and place the talent points elsewhere, like 2/5 Relentless or poison specs for combat or whatever. I have tested and dealt with these specs accordingly, they are cookie-cutters because they work:
